NOTES ON A THREAD OF SCARLET
The play opens in 1927 at Victoria’s graveside and then moves back to the exciting time when she was involved in the Women’s Suffrage Movement in the 1870s. She ran for the Presidency of the United States against Ulysses S. Grant with a Black man, Frederick Douglass, as her running mate. Her platform advocated birth control, abortion, controversial then and continues to be so today.
