ENCOMPASS PRESENTS

HEAR THEIR VOICES: PLAYS BY WOMEN FOUNDERS OF THE AMERICAN THEATRE 1910-1945

Conceived by Nancy Rhodes
Produced by Josephine Hemsing
Designed by Sheldon L. Rieke

Encompass Theatre presents HEAR THEIR VOICES: six plays offered in their entirety as staged readings. The plays were written by women founders of the American Theatre – 1910-1945. The aim of this production is twofold: first, to present works of lasting merit and, second, to rediscover an era in which women helped shape the destiny of the American theatre as we know it today, thereby establishing a heritage for today’s women playwrights, directors, and producers.
