Barbara Bliss Mestre,
Board Chair Emerita

Barbara Bliss Mestre was a champion of new opera-music theatre and was dedicated to creating opportunities for singers and composers.

Her distinguished service as a member of the Encompass Board of Trustees and as co-Chair Emerita, gave a vibrant presence to the artistic life of Encompass for more than 17 years.

Her experience as an international opera singer and voice teacher gave her an important and vital perspective which she brought to everything she did at Encompass. She was a cherished friend and mentor, and we are deeply grateful for her wise and loving guidance all through the years. We will miss her greatly.
