Richard Pearson Thomas has had works performed by Boston Pops, Covent Garden Festival, Houston Grand Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Portland Opera, Banff Centre, Skylight Opera Theatre, Westchester Philharmonic, and Riverside Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir. His songs have been sung in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Wigmore Hall and before the U.S. Congress. Encompass New Opera Theatre produced the New York Premiere of his opera, A Wake or a Wedding at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in November, 2014. His musicals have been produced Off-Off Broadway by Riverside Opera Ensemble and Encompass. His musical Golden Gate won the Michael Stewart Foundation Award and was presented in concert by Monmouth Civic Chorus. He is a frequent collaborator with Mirror Visions Ensemble. Mr. Thomas teaches at Teachers College, Columbia University and has taught at Yale. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and University of Southern California.
